    Your reliable cleanroom equipment manufacturer
    Class100 Ceiling laminar flow hood(CLAF)

What is Ceiling laminar flow hood?

Flair’s Ceiling Suspended Laminar Airflow Unit (CLAF) or Stand Mounted Laminar Airflow Unit (CLAF) are a containment equipment module utilizing a zoned unidirectional (laminar) downflow supply of air to positively pressurize and purge the working environment from potential contaminants; thereby providing enhanced aseptic work zones for maintaining process integrity and/or product protection.

It provides sterile CLASS 100 clean air in an isolated area where various kinds of critical and highly sensitive process activities are carried out.

Why do you choose Fair’s ceiling Laminar flow hood?

Flair LAF hood is designed as per CLASS 5 OF ISO 14644-1 standards. The cabinet will be mounted from the ceiling using SS rope/Thread road or SUS stands. Access for servicing the HEPA filters will be provided from the bottom side of the unit,

  • Easy to install

Modular sections for ease of installation

  • Flexible

Standard &customized  sizes are available, fit any cleanroom configuration

  • Low cost&Energy-efficient

Supply/return air from duct collars, low wall returns or pre-filters

  • Easy to maintenance

Inspection & replace HEPA filters are both  from within the clean area.

What’s the difference between a laminar flow hood and a biosafety cabinet?
A laminar flow hood protects the sample only, while a biosafety cabinet protects both the sample and the user from harmful biological agents.

DOP testing involves releasing a fine aerosol (formerly using Dioctyl Phthalate, now replaced by PAO – Polyalphaolefin) and using a photometer to detect particle penetration through the HEPA filter. It confirms the filter is intact and performing at ≥99.97% efficiency.

DOP testing ensures the HEPA /ULPA filter integrity required for maintaining ISO 5 cleanliness. It verifies that no contaminated air bypasses the filter.

Laminar (unidirectional) flow prevents turbulence and cross-contamination. Typically, ISO5/class100 hoods maintain 90–110 feet per minute (fpm) airflow.

Yes, but only when the LAF hood is not in use. UV sterilization adds another layer of decontamination but doesn’t replace airflow or filtration.

A:

  • Daily surface cleaning with isopropyl alcohol

  • Scheduled filter checks

  • Annual DOP/PAO certification

  • Monitoring airflow consistency
